I haven’t english FF, but a suggestion:
After cearing in the database, you don’t need click from bookmark to bookmark. Just rightclick on the BOOKMARK toolbar, and there is something like this: Open every bookmark on separate tab. It opens all bookmarks by one click, takes a bit of time, and the result is: all the favicons are refreshed.

The main idea - the database cleaning - is very useful.

apt-get install sqlite3

sqlite3 places.sqlite

delete from mox_favicons where 1;

.quit

This will clear all cached favicons.

1. Delete all bookmarks pointing to this location.
2. Clear the browser cache.
3. Restart FF.
4. Recreate your bookmark.
5. You may have to click on your bookmark to set the new favicon.

and when I try to connect to the database it shows as places.sqlite and when I click on it I get an error message that says the file doe not exist or may not be a sqlite file

I can see it in the files and know its there

any ideas?
